eConsult
eConsult lets you consult with your NHS GP online by completing a quick form that is sent and reviewed by the practice normally within 2 days. (Link at the bottom of page)
We do not use eConsult as a same day appointment tool. If you need a same day emergency appointment then please call reception. Examples of this include a chest infection, urine infection or throat infection/tonsilitis.
A few examples of appropriate conditions
- Review appointment for a known, eg flare of eczema requesting treatment.
- New issue that does not need to be seen on the day – fungal/thickened toe nail
- Muscular issues – Knee pain, low back pain
- Request for a test – prostate blood test.
- Skin lesions will often need to be seen in person but submitting an eConsult can be triaged into urgent or routine from an eConsult with a clear in focus picture.

- Can be used for medical issues (eg knee pain) as well as administrative (eg requested completion of a form)
- You can attach images and have this looked without being seen in person
- A GP will normally respond within 2 working days
- Can reduce delays and additional appointment– eg arranging a blood test and a review with the results or a direct appointment with the most appropriate team member – eg physio for knee pain .
